The Dutch Samuel Beckett foundation was founded in 1990 to promote the interest in Beckett's work.

The Foundation organises at least one public lecture or event a year. Among the speakers have been: the English Beckett biographer James Knowlson; the translators Anneke Brassinga, Martine Vosmaer en Karina van Santen;the Dutch authors Rein Bloem, J. Bernlef, Piet Gerbrandy, M. Februari and Jacq. Vogelaar; the British Beckett publisher John Calder; the German Beckett director Walter Asmus; and the Irish poet Brendan Kennelly. Its activities have included co-sponsoring an exhibition of the Dutch painter (and friend of Beckett) Bram van Velde, and of an exhibition dedicated to artists inspired by Beckett's work; a private playreading of Eleutheria; a workshop on Samuel Beckett's film Film; a discussion subsequent to a performance of Endgame, etcetera. The Foundation also promotes the publication of studies on and translations of Beckett's work into Dutch. It also intends to issue special collectors items.
